PURPOSE: A conductive thin film type microwave absorber is provided to reduce the thickness of the microwave absorber by using, as a microwave absorbing layer, a metallic magnet having a high magnetic permeability and dielectric constant or a ceramic ferroelectric substance having a high dielectric constant. CONSTITUTION: A conductive thin film type microwave absorber comprises a microwave absorbing layer(1) having a thickness 1/4 of the incident electromagnetic wave length; a resistance film(2) formed on the electromagnetic wave incident surface of the microwave absorbing layer, and which has a surface resistance of 377±20 §Ù/sq so as to induce an impedance matching; and a conductor layer(3) formed at the surface opposite from the surface of the microwave absorbing layer on which the resistance film is formed.
