The printing machine has a discharge device (32) for removing an electrostatic charge from the printed sheets (13) at a sheet stack deposition station, which is adjustable relative to the rear edge (35) of the sheet stack and which is spaced at a distance of at least 20 cm from the top rear edge of the sheet stack. The discharge device may be adjusted in conjunction with a sheet rear edge stop (20) and/or a sheet brake (15).
