PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for acquiring a microorganism highly accumulating S-adenosylmethionine (SAM). SOLUTION: The present invention provides a method for acquiring the microorganism highly accumulating S-adenosylmethionine (SAM) by selecting a nystatin-resistant strain. Particularly, it is preferable to acquire a microbial strain which grows in a selective culture medium containing nystatin and a target variant can efficiently and accurately can be acquired, because positive screening is carried out. The method for acquiring the microorganism can widely be applied to various kinds of microorganisms in addition to Sake (refined rice wine) yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) and enables mass production of SAM by mass-culturing a variant breeded and separated by the method.
