PURPOSE: A method for inspecting a defect in spacers of an LCD panel is provided to detect a defect of spacers by taking an image of an LCD cell, thereby improving the quality. CONSTITUTION: A predetermined reference value of a spacer is inputted to a vision control unit and an initial position of a line scan camera is set up(S10). The vision control unit generates an alignment control signal for transmitting the alignment control signal to a PLC(Programmable Logic Controller). The PLC drives an inspection table according to the transmitted alignment control signal for aligning an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) cell moved to the inspection table(S20). The vision control unit judges whether the LCD cell is rightly aligned(S30). If so, the vision control unit drives the line scan camera for taking a photograph of a front of the LCD cell to obtain an image(S40). The vision control unit confirms whether the any spacer shown in the image is different from the predetermined reference value in size(S60). If no spacer is different, the vision control unit generates and outputs information that the spacers are fine(S70). If any spacer is different, the vision control unit generates and outputs information that the spacers are bad(S80).
