PURPOSE: A security filter and a method for preventing display of sensitive information on a video display of a processing system are provided to block sensitive information or secret information like as price, an e-mail address, a mail address, a company name, a personal name, a password, or a product name in a data processing device like as a PC or an electronic organizer. CONSTITUTION: The processing system(100) comprises a PC(110), a display(185), and a pointing device(190). The processing system comprises a data processing device(120), a main memory(130), a disk storage(140), a user I/O interface(150), a video interface(160), an I/O buffer(170) and a communication bus(175). The communication bus transfers data of the processing system. The data processing device executes an application program of the main memory. A display filter automatically discriminates data of the display and blocks the discriminated data.
