摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent unexpected torque from acting on a motor, and set the motor in a condition for enhancement of energy efficiency for a vehicle as a whole. <P>SOLUTION: A motor MG 2 is connected to a ring gear shaft 32a, which is mechanically connected to driving wheels 39a and 39b via a transmission 60, capable of connecting and disconnecting the motor MG2; and when a shift lever 81 is operated to the neutral position while the vehicle is running at relatively high speed or when the temperature of the motor MG2 is high, the motor MG2 will be disconnected by the transmission 60, if the torque requirement of the motor MG2 is close to value 0. When the disconnected state is released, the motor MG2 is connected. Thus, regenerative torque, produced by the motor MG2 being dragged at a high speed, can be prevented from being exerted; the motor MG2 can be driven at a proper temperature; and the motor MG2 is suppressed from being driven within a range in which the efficiency is poor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
