PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image transmission apparatus which stores image information for each sender and manages the information without enforcing a particular load on the senders even when a plurality of people share the one transmission apparatus to use it. SOLUTION: A fingerprint sensor 121 is provided to a start button 108 for starting transmission in a facsimile machine 101 as the image transmission apparatus and particularizes an operator at transmission and start of copying so that image information related to the transmission is stored in file areas assigned to the operator in a large capacity storage section 162. Thus, when it is necessary to extract e.g., the image information whose transmission is finished, the image information is simply extracted by using the information of the operator (sender) for a key.
