PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool which can improve the yielding ratio of workpiece material by cutting only part of the internal surface of a workpiece. SOLUTION: The machine tool having a main spindle 20 to be inserted into the workpiece W having a cylindrical internal surface, a tool 12 for cutting the workpiece W, a tool holding portion H provided at the tip end of the main spindle 20, and a driving means M1 for driving the main spindle 20, is provided with a guiding portion G which rotatably supports the main spindle 20 and is brought into contact with the cylindrical internal surface of the workpiece W, and a moving means on the tool holding portion H in order to move the tool 12 in the radial direction of the main spindle 20.
