A method for dyeing and lightening previously permed human keratin fibers involves: (a) contacting the fibers with a composition (A) comprising a medium containing soluble fluorescent dye(s) (I) for sufficient time to develop the required dyeing and lightening effect, (b) optionally rinsing, (c) optionally washing using shampoo then rinsing and (d) drying the fibers (or allowing the fibers to dry).
