PURPOSE: A lifter exclusive for back up roll is provided to improve working productivity and prevent safety accident of workers by freely connecting the lifter to crane hook or disconnecting the lifter from the crane hook and firmly fixing the back up roll to the lifter, thereby easily lifting up the lifter by crane. CONSTITUTION: The lifter(1) exclusive for back up roll comprises a certain sized body(5) formed of iron structure; a hanger part(20) comprising a plural hook hangers laterally slid from the upper side of the body so that the hook hangers are mounted on crane hook, and a traverse means(30) for moving the hook hangers in a lateral direction of the body; a picking part(40) comprising a pair of arm members(45a,45b) installed at left and right sides and moved in a direction perpendicular to a moving direction of the hook hangers from the lower side of the body, and traveling means(50) respectively installed at the pair of arm members to move the arm members installed at the pair of the arm members oppositely to each other; and a controller(70) comprising an electric connector(72) for supplying power and electric signals to the traverse means and the traveling means respectively from the crane, wherein the controller is electrically connected to the traverse means and the traveling means to drive the traverse means and the traveling means respectively by operator operation in crane operation room, and wherein the lifter picks up the back up roll by the arm members, and the lifter is connected to the hook of the crane through the hook hangers to enable the back up roll to be transferred and replaced.
