METHOD OF OFFSET VOLTAGE CONTROL FOR BIPOLAR IONIZATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of offset voltage control for a pulse mode ionization system having positive and negative power supplies. SOLUTION: The duty cycle and overlap of outputs of positive and negative power supplies are controlled, and the overlap to achieve a desired offset voltage is determined. The offset voltage and the corresponding overlap are stored in a memory. The duty cycle and overlap of outputs of the positive and negative power supplies are controlled so as to achieve the desired offset voltage based on the comparison of the stored offset voltage.
