<p>A compound which has excellent solution stability and is suitable for use as, e.g., a reagent for measurement of the concentration of residual chlorine in water. This compound is represented by the following formula (II) or (III), wherein X is a group represented by the left side in the formula (I), in which the right side is X-. In the formula (I), R<1>, R<2>, R<3>, and R<4> each independently is selected among hydrogen, methyl, and methoxy; R<5> and R<6> each independently is selected among hydrogen and lower alkyls; and R<7>, R<8>, R<9>, R<10>, and R<11> each independently is selected among hydrogen, sulfo, and sulfoalkoxy, provided that the alkyl chain of the sulfoalkoxy may have hydroxy added thereto.</p> |
