PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for forming a sheet-shaped product, capable of providing the sheet-shaped product having both of hydrophilicity and water resistance (water resistance having both of resistance to rubbing with water, and resistance to water dissolution with the lapse of time); and to provide a coated article having a coated film formed on the surface of a base material by using the composition for forming the sheet-shaped product. SOLUTION: The composition for forming the sheet-shaped product contains (a) polyvinylamides, and (b) an aromatic compound having a structure of at least two proton-generating groups directly bonding to one aromatic group, in constituent elements.
