PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the disadvantage such as leakage of exhaust gas from a clearance gap and reduce the noise by mounting a dummy muffler in simple operation. SOLUTION: As a dummy muffler setting tool 1 connected to an exhaust part E in a firing test of an engine W, a connecting member 4 energized forward by a spring 3 is provided on the front part of a cylindrical body 2, and a rotary member 5 is rotatably provided on the front outer peripheral part of the cylindrical body 2. The rotary member 5 is provided with a pair of locking members 6 projected forward. When the connecting member 4 is pressed to the exhaust hole Eh of the exhaust part E and brought into close contact therewith, and then the rotary member 5 is rotated, the locking members 6 engage and disengage with and from the flange part f of the exhaust part E.
