PURPOSE: A heating apparatus for a steering wheel of a vehicle is provided to operate conveniently, to drive agreeably, and to prevent accidents from insensibility of steering control by heating the steering wheel with the heating apparatus. CONSTITUTION: A heating apparatus of a steering wheel(H) is composed of a heating unit embedded in a cover of the steering wheel for steering in traveling to heat the steering wheel cover; an operation switch applying or shutting off power to the heating unit; and an overheat preventing unit detecting overheating of the heating unit and outputting the off-signal to the operation switch in overheating. The heating unit has a hot wire(110) surrounding the rim of the steering wheel, an insulation material(120) insulating the hot wire from the steering wheel cover by surrounding the hot wire, and a reinforcing member(130) embedded in the steering wheel cover to prevent deformation of the steering wheel cover against heat from the hot wire. A temperature sensor(310) is embedded in the heating unit to detect temperature of the heating unit.
