PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an ultrasonic endoscope to easily and appropriately perform such treatment as EMR etc., by combining an endoscope observing means and an ultrasonic-wave observing means. SOLUTION: A hood 10 is protruded from a front-end hard section 2 of an inserting section 1 of the ultrasonic endoscope and an ultrasonic ring array 11 is fitted to the front end face of the hood 10. While an ultrasonic wave is transmitted into the body of a subject by successively driving ultrasonic vibrators 12 arranged in a ring-shape to constitute the ultrasonic ring array 11 by actuating the vibrators 12, the treatment such as the EMR etc. by using a high-frequency snare 20, is smoothly performed by acquiring annular ultrasonic tomographic images on the front side of an observing section 4 by performing ultrasonic electronic scanning by receiving the reflected echoes of the ultrasonic wave.
