PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing toner particles with which the toner particles of excellent characteristics can be obtained by decreasing the particulate present in the toner particles synthesized in an aqueous dispersion medium. SOLUTION: In the process of drying the toner particles formed in the aqueous dispersion medium, a drying means is a drying system using an air current and the drying is so performed as to satisfy B<0.9A, when the ratio occupied by the particles of 0.6 to 2.0μm in grain size in a grain size distribution by the diameter of the equivalent circle of the toner particles before drying is defined as A and the ratio occupied by the particle of 0.6 to 2.0μm in grain size in a grain size distribution by the diameter of the equivalent circle of the toner particles after the drying is defined as B.
