The wall (1) is made of bricks or building blocks (2) and has grooves (3) cut in its surface to receive electric cables (6). Junction boxes (4) and plug socket outlets (5) are fastened to the face of the brickwork. The cables are inserted into flexible spongy holders (7) which may be pushed into the grooves in the wall to hold them in place until the wall is covered in plaster.
