PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a snap ring assembling method for improving the fitting strength between a first rotating member and a second rotating member, when fitted to each other, while holding down an increase in cost, and its assembling tool in use for the same. SOLUTION: A plurality of spline protrusions 40p provided on the outer periphery of an output gear 40 and a plurality of spline protrusions 60p provided on the inner periphery of an internal plate 60 are spline-fitted at their spline grooves 40n, 60n to each other. Herein, a ring S is mounted in an outer periphery groove n1 of the gear 40 and a sliding member 1 movable along the spline groove 40n is thrust by a ring member 2 so that the outer diameter of the ring S is not larger than the diameter of the bottom face of the spline groove 40n. Then, the gear 40 and the plate 60 are slid along the spline grooves 40n, 60n to allow the spline protrusions 60p of the plate 60 to thrust the sliding member 1 away from the spline groove 40n. Thereby, the outer periphery groove n1 of the gear 40 and the inner periphery groove n2 of the plate 60 are aligned with each other to demarcate an annular space R in which the snap ring S is assembled.
