The method comprises producing a first image from a first object with the photographic apparatus; detecting a diagnostic element within the first image; deriving at least a first value from the diagnostic element; deriving at least a first comprehensive value from the first value; determining a first difference between the first comprehensive value and a corresponding comprehensive initialization value derived from at least one initialization value; and assigning a first operational function of the mobile communication terminal to the first difference.
