PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a driver to safely drive a vehicle by quickly and accurately grasping a situation in front of the vehicle without averting his eyes from a scene ahead of the vehicle which the driver actually looks at through the windshield even in an environment in which the driver cannot see ahead at night or the like. SOLUTION: An infrared light 11 is provided at the front of the vehicle and an infrared camera 12 is mounted in a vehicle interior. An image processing circuit 13 segments only an image in a preset prescribed area among infrared images photographed by the infrared camera 12 and displays the image on a liquid crystal panel 15. The prescribed area is an area (for example, a roadside area, etc., where headlight does not shine) which is bad for the driver to see, and the image in the area is displayed on the liquid crystal panel 15 to thereby be displayed as a virtual image on the windshield 8. Since the virtual image is displayed so as to be overlapped on an actual scene that the driver sees, the driver accurately grasps the situation in front of the vehicle even in an environment with low illumination.
