PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preceding handrail of a framework scaffold enabling working attached to an upper stage by one worker by eliminating need of unnecessarily lifting the handrail high by hands concerning the preceding handrail provided on the uppermost stage of the framework scaffold. SOLUTION: The preceding handrail 10 is provided with a pair of clamps 15a and 15b on the right, left and lower ends of a handrail frame 11, and attached to a standard pipe 2a of a construction frame of the framework scaffold with the pair of the clamps 15a and 15b. A hooking fitting 16 positioned upward of the clamps 15a and 15b on only one of right and left of the handrail frame 11 is provided, hooked to a horizontal muntin pipe of a construction frame top part of the framework scaffold, and attached to the standard pipe 2a from the clamp 15a of the side having no hooking fitting 16.
