<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus structure in which torsion rigidity is improved without adding a member dedicated to reinforcement. <P>SOLUTION: In a beam member 12, a honeycomb-like part 12c is formed on the lower surface of a web portion 12a connecting side plates 11. The shape of each of the honeycomb-like cells of the honeycomb-like part 12c is a hexagonal recess. Each recess 20 has an outer circumferential surface 20b forming an inclined hollow spreading outward from its bottom 20a. Three of four installation legs F1, F2, F3, and F4, to which a main body lower base, etc., is kept attached, are fixed with proper means, and one of them is not fixed. When weight is applied upward in this condition, the ends x1 and x2 of the connection member 13 of the side plates 11 and their vicinities bend most. However, the honeycomb-like part reduces deformation of any weighted points by 10 to 12% as compared to the case where a honeycomb-like part is not provided.
