The hydrocracking process involves a hydrorefining stage, using a hydrorefining catalyst, followed by separation of converted from non-converted products, then a hydrocracking stage in which non-converted products are contacted with hydrogen in the presence of an amorphous catalyst. A hydrocracking process for the conversion of a hydrocarbon charge involves (1) a hydrorefining stage in which a charge is contacted with hydrogen in the presence of a hydrorefining catalyst at a temperature T1 and an effluent is recovered containing converted and non-converted products; (2) optionally a separation stage in which the converted products are separated from the non-converted products; (3) hydrocracking stage in which the non-converted products are contacted with hydrogen in the presence of an amorphous catalyst comprising a support, palladium and platinum, at a temperature T2 less than T1, the difference being 5 - 50[deg]C.
