The invention relates to directly swollen liquid crystals, a method for production thereof and use thereof as a reaction medium for various chemical reactions. According to the invention, a directly swollen liquid crystal comprises an aqueous phase of an aqueous solution of at least one ionic compound, an organic phase of an organic solvent not soluble in water, a detergent phase of a non-ionic detergent or a cationic detergent and a co-detergent phase. The above is not coloured or opalescent and has a hexagonal, cubic or sponge structure. |
