<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the convenience of a reproduction device by properly updating reproduction management information while continuing reproduction even if a detachable storage medium is attached or detached during reproduction. <P>SOLUTION: This reproduction device comprises a first storage medium; a storage medium installation means for detachably installing a second storage medium; a management information creation means for creating reproduction management information consisting of a list of content data stored in the first storage medium and the second storage medium installed to the storage medium installation means; a reproduction means for reading and reproducing, according to the reproduction management information, the content data from the first storage medium and the second storage medium installed to the storage medium installation means; and a management information updating means for updating the reproduction management information according to the presence/absence of the second storage medium while reproducing the content data under reproduction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
