PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid dynamic pressure bearing capable of preventing repellent oil films from peeling off. SOLUTION: This fluid dynamic pressure bearing comprises a sleeve body 10 (stationary member), a shaft body 8 (rotating member) rotatable relative to the sleeve body 10, and a fluid dynamic pressure bearing part formed in a clearance between the sleeve body 10 and the shaft body 8 and holding lubricating oil present in the clearance. The lubricating oil is not present and the repellent oil films 58 and 60 preventing the lubricating oil from flowing out are formed at the portion of the opposed surfaces of the sleeve body 10 and the shaft body 8 adjacent to the fluid dynamic pressure bearing part. The portion where the repellent oil films are formed is formed rougher in surface roughness than a bearing surface forming the fluid dynamic pressure bearing part. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
