Baking oven

A small-scale automated bread baking oven has a series of trays (7) on which bread rolls (3) are positioned. The trays progress through the oven moved by a transport mechanism (23a). The trays used in the oven are esp. also those used for retail presentation. The oven has an inlet (4, 9) providing access to the oven interior and a food (3) tray discharge outlet (55, 56). Incoming air (24) is heated (26) and distributed by a channel (42a) circulated throughout the oven interior to different levels. The transport mechanism is a sprocket and chain-drive which engages with two or more trays. The chain is maintained in tension.
