PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform ultrasonography in a condition where a diagnostic region is pressurized. SOLUTION: An ultrasonic probe supporting device 10 which supports an ultrasonic probe 18 is equipped with an arm mechanism 22 which can adjust a position and a posture of the ultrasonic probe 18 and a pressurizing mechanism 20 which actuates direct movement of the ultrasonic probe. When ultrasonography is performed, the surface of the body of an examinee 44 is pressurized by adjusting the position and posture of the ultrasonic probe 18 with the arm mechanism 22 and moving the ultrasonic probe 18 in the straight direction with the pressurizing mechanism 20.
