摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately measure torsion in an optical fiber. SOLUTION: This system is a method and a device for acquiring a measured value of the torsion in the optical fiber to confirm the torsion applied onto the optical fiber 1. In the method and the device of the present invention, eccentricity is measured by using the measuring method to determine a torsion amount applied onto the optical fiber 1 when laid. Nevertheless, the eccentricity measurement is used for a purpose other than the determination of the torsion amount in the optical fiber 1. In the present invention, the eccentricity of the fiber 1 is determined as a function of a longitudinal-directional position of the fiber 1 by viewing the fiber 1 from a plurality of positions along a longitudinal direction. The torsion amount of the fiber 1 is determined based on the eccentricity. Detail variation information about the torsion of the fiber is determined by obtaining projection drawings from a large number of view points preferably (not necessarily) orthogonal each other and transverse to the longitudinal direction of the fiber 1, and by processing them.
