PURPOSE: A hinge device of a portable telephone is provided to easily assemble a hinge device, and avoid interference with other parts. CONSTITUTION: Fixed parts(130,131) are formed at both ends of a main body(101). Rotating parts(120) are supported by the fixed parts for rotating at a predetermined angle to the main body(101). The rotating part includes a power generator, a rotary cam(124) and a fixed cam(125), a cam shaft(126), and an elastic member(140). The power generator generates driving force. The rotary cam(124) and the fixed cam(125) are installed to selective drive or release driving force of the power generator. The cam shaft(126) is slidably combined with the fixed cam(125), and of which one side is fixed to prevent idle rotation with the fixed part. The elastic member(140) is inserted into the cam shaft(126) for granting elastic force.
