PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric smoke detector, which can determine a result of fire sensor test without counting a pulse signal, and can reduce a time for checking an action. SOLUTION: The photoelectric detector for smoke comprises a circuit 13 for testing a fire sensor, which becomes active when a test switch is turned on, a counter unit 12a, a unit 12b for determining the fire, a measuring unit 12c for measuring a smoke density, and an alarm circuit 11 for outputting an instruction for the alarm without depending on the counter 12a, when the circuit 13 for testing the fire sensor receives a pulse to determine the fire from the unit 12b and a signal for the smoke density from the measuring unit 12c if the test switch is turned on.
