PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new ventilating device of a housing cabinet for root vegetables designed to adequately ventilate and regulate the humidity in the housing cabinet for the root vegetables. SOLUTION: The ventilating device of the housing cabinet (1) for the root vegetables is equipped with a humidity sensor (2) detecting the humidity in the housing cabinet (1) for the root vegetables, a ventilating fan (3) ventilating the interior of the housing cabinet (1) for the root vegetables and a control means (4) controlling the operation of the ventilating fan (3) on the basis of the detected humidity with the humidity sensor (2). Thereby, the ventilating fan (3) is operated only for a prescribed operating time when the detected humidity with the humidity sensor (2) has a target humidity or above and stopped only for a prescribed stopping time period irrespective of the detected humidity after the operation.
