PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oblique incidence imaging optical system having a wide viewing angle and little distortion. SOLUTION: Luminous flux emitted at an opening angle≥10°from either conjugate surface A successively passes through a 1st optical system (30) having the converging action of the luminous flux near its reference axis and a 2nd optical system (31) having the diverging action of the luminous flux near its reference axis, and is converged on the other conjugate surface B. By setting a fixed condition to the converging distance at respective converging points on the cross section of the luminous flux including a principal light beam in accordance with the passing position of the luminous flux passing through the 1st optical system (30), the oblique incidence optical system whose half viewing angle is≥60°is realized with comparatively simple constitution regardless of the kind of an optical device to be used.
