<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas generator which allows jetting of gas having high- temperature residual slug and reduces loading quantity of a cooling and filter member. SOLUTION: This gas generator for an air bag is provided with an upper container 1 which has an upper lid 1a, an outer circumferential cylindrical wall part 1b, and a gas outlet 8, a lower container 2 which has a lower lid 2a joined with the bottom end of the outer circumferential cylindrical wall part, a flange cylinder part 2b, and a side flange 2c having an opening end 19a of the air bag fitted thereto, a housing 3 formed by joining the upper container and the lower container, an igniter 4 arranged in the central part of the housing, a gas generating agent 6, and a cooling and filter member 7. In this case, the central line 8a of a part or the whole of the gas outlet formed in the upper container 1 is so set as to be positioned toward the bottom lid side than the top end face 2d of the side flange.</p> |
