DAMPING DEVICE FOR HANDLEBAR AND HANDLEBAR USING IT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damping device having a new structure whereby vibrations in a handlebar of a motorcycle can be effectively damped in a wide frequency range. SOLUTION: A support rod 34 protruding to a hollow inner part 48 of the handlebar 10 is provided with respect to a support crown body 36 fixed on a tip opening part of the handlebar 10, and an independent mass member 30 is fitted over the support rod 34 so as to be independently displaced. The independent mass member 30 is elastically abutted with the support rod 34 along the axially perpendicular direction in a stroke range whereby the independent mass member 30 is not abutted with the handlebar 10.
