PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve productivity without requiring any complex work and perform accurate sampling inspections, when performing such quality inspections as the electric disconnection, electric short, brokenness, protrusion, and pattern faultiness of the lead of each electronic-component mounting portion, in a film carrier tape for mounting electronic components. SOLUTION: When inspecting electronic components by an inspecting apparatus, the electronic-component mounting portions are so stopped respectively in an inspecting position during a predetermined time while they are carried continuously to the inspecting position at a predetermined speed as to perform in the inspecting apparatus the inspection of whether the electronic components are faulty or not. When detecting a faulty component as the result of the inspection in the inspecting apparatus, the carriage of the film carrier tape is so stopped once in a faulty-component detecting position based on the input from a carriage controlling switch as to reinspect the faulty component in the faulty-component detecting position by the inspecting apparatus. After completing the reinspecting, based on the input from the carriage controlling switch, the electronic-component mounting portions are stopped again respectively in the inspecting position during the predetermined time while they are carried continuously to the inspecting position.
