<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cultivated cell line that has insulin resistance induced by the glucose toxicity in a skeletal muscle and shows excellent culture operability, and provide a method for screening compounds having the action to improve the insulin resistance by using the cell line. <P>SOLUTION: In this method of screening the substance having the action to improve the insulin resistance, the CHO cell into which the DNA encoding an insulin receptor and the DNA encoding the type 4 sugar transporter are transferred and shows insulin resistance is pre-cultured in the presence of glucose and a testing material, then the insulin response of the pre-cultured cell is measured. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
