<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent staining of output paper and to prolong the service life of an electrostatic charger by detecting the amount of scattering of powder (toner, paper powder, etc.) in an image forming apparatus and optimizing the strength of a fan and developing conditions (for example, rotating speed of a sleeve, electric field intensity, etc.) according to the results of the detection. <P>SOLUTION: A wind velocity sensor and a magnetic sensor are arranged near the filter of the image forming apparatus and the clogging of the filter and the amount of scattering of the dust, more particularly the toner of a magnetic substance in the atmosphere in the image forming apparatus are detected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
