<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time (FPOT) until first printing operation at the time of an automatic color discriminating function (ACS) is completed and to also shorten difference with the time of setting a color mode (color/monochrome mode) in a color image forming device. <P>SOLUTION: The color image forming device is constituted so that image data inputted by a scanner part are analyzed, when use of the automatic color discriminating function (ACS mode) for determining a full color recording mode or a monochrome recording mode is selected by an operation part 3500, a printer control part 1000 performs a housekeeping operation of an image formation part in the full color recording mode before a discrimination result whether the inputted image is a color image or a monochrome image is obtained by an image control part 300, then, when the inputted image is discriminated as the monochrome image in the image control part 3000, image formation is executed by transiting a recording mode from the full color recording mode to the monochrome recording mode and when the inputted image is discriminated as the color image, the image formation is executed in the full color recording mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
