PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a debug program or a debugging method for easily preventing a bug, and improving debugging efficiency by detecting a program bug when access to an I/O area or writing in an ROM area is executed in debugging of software. SOLUTION: This debug program is provided to be used for debugging, by using a CPU and a storage means, software to be executed by a processor connected to at least an RAM and an I/O area having an address for inputting/outputting a signal to/from a peripheral circuit. In order to divide the storage area of the storage means into a plurality of areas corresponding to the RAM and I/O area in debugging, the debug program causes the CPU to execute a procedure (a) for performing access to the storage area and a procedure (b) for detecting whether or not any unauthorized access has been performed to the area corresponding to the I/O area.
