摘要 PURPOSE: Provided is an equipment for manufacturing optical fiber preforms with high quality and desirable characteristics by controlling mass flux of mixed gas supplied to deposition furnace and quantity of carrier gas by using an image processing device. CONSTITUTION: The equipment supplying mixed gas of carrier gas and raw material gas to a deposition furnace comprises the parts of: an illumination source(211) giving beams such as laser(He-Ne) or halogen lamp to mixed gas supplied to a deposition furnace; a camera unit(213), CCD camera, taking a photograph of the mixed gas from the beams passing through the mixed gas; an image processing device(215) measuring size and number of drops forming the mixed gas from images taken with a camera. Accordingly, the equipment measures the mass flux of a mixed gas supplied to deposition furnace form bubbler and controls the inflow velocity of a carrier gas, based on measured values.
