The system has a warning part for activating alarm when a calculated critical time is below a predetermined time. Peaks in angular displacements of a steering wheel are continuously measured, and an average slope from points is calculated. A determination is made whether trend in maintenance of a vehicle's path provides evidence of a loss of attention of a driver. A current slope is continuously compared with different consecutive slopes.
