PURPOSE: Provided is a method for protecting underwater ecosystem by using air bubbles, by which problems generated in static water areas including inhibition of growth of aquatic plankton can be solved. CONSTITUTION: The method is applied to various freshwater areas including a reservoir, dam, artificial lake and natural lake. A device for generating and injecting air bubbles is used to prevent oxygen depletion phenomenon in ground water generated when surface water and ground water remain non-mixed for a long time, death of fishes and Crustacea and rapid increase of toxic bacteria. The device comprises an electric motor or internal combustion engine as a power source(1), an air compressor for injecting air from a deep water area, a hose or pipe(6) for delivering air to a nozzle(77) having a weight suppressing the buoyant force of the air in the hose. Air bubbles(4) are injected from the nozzle(77).
