<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery whereof an internal resistance is reduced by using a positive electrode plate having an electric resistance of a prescribed value or less. <P>SOLUTION: This lithium secondary battery is provided with an electrode body 1 formed by winding or laminating each of positive and negative electrode plates 2, 3 obtained by forming an electrode active material layer on the surface of a collecting substrate through a separator 4, and also uses a nonaqueous electrolyte. Lithium manganate having a cubic spinel structure is used for the positive electrode active material, and the positive electrode plate whereof resistivity ρ in the thickness direction of the positive electrode active material layer is not more than 500 (Ω cm) is used. This lithium secondary battery can be widely used not only for a power supply battery of a portable electronic apparatus such as a portable telephone, a VTR, a laptop computer, or the like, but also for a motor driving power supply of an electric automobile (EV) or a hybrid electric automobile (HEV). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
