PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To screw and mount a glow plug into a mounting hole of an engine head in the state in which a metal cylindrical body as part of the plug abuts on a circular seat face in the mounting hole while keeping the metal cylindrical body in a wide area without relatively sliding to the side of a rear end. SOLUTION: The glow plug 1 comprises a metal cylindrical body 21 joined to a metal shell 31 and a heater 11 fixed thereto. On the outer peripheral face of the metal shell 31, a male screw portion is provided to be screwed and mounted into the plug mounting hole of the engine head 101. On the outer peripheral face of the metal cylindrical body 21 of the plug near the end of the metal shell 31, a circular protruded portion 22 is integrally provided which is outward protruded circularly in the peripheral direction. In the state that an end face 23 tending to the front end of the circular protruded portion 22 abuts on the circular seat face 108 of the mounting hole and the end face 34 of the metal shell 31 abuts on an end face 25 tending to the rear end thereof, both of them are joined together.
