PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile unit stroke detecting apparatus capable of improving detection precision in a stroke from a fixed position in a mobile unit by a simple configuration at low costs. SOLUTION: A reference position in the mobile unit 32 is detected by a first detector 33 and the amount of travel in the mobile unit corresponding to the amount of operation of an actuator for drive is detected by a second detector. A temporary reference position correspondence value that is the output value of the second detector at the time of detection of the reference position is corrected by an offset correction value that is the amount of travel in the mobile body required for allowing the mobile unit position at the point of detection of the reference position by the first detector 33 to coincide with the mobile unit position when the reference position is positioned at a preset zero point, thus obtaining a reference position correspondence value. The stroke of the mobile unit is obtained, based on the amount of travel in the mobile unit detected by the second detector from the reference position correspondence value. The output signal of the first detector 33 changes according to a change in a relative position in the movement direction of the mobile body to a step 32a' for partitioning into one end side of the mobile unit 32 and the other in the reference position, thus detecting the reference position.
