PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biodegradable string having excellent mechanical properties, suppressed in hydrolysis at high temperatures and in a highly humid condition, having a combination of mildewproofness with weatherability, and causing no fibrillation as well. SOLUTION: The biodegradable string is made from biodegradable uniaxially oriented film composed of a crystalline polylactic acid and an aliphatic-aromatic copolyester≤0°C in glass transition temperature as the main constituents. The string has a relative viscosity of≥1.8, a birefringence of≤0.035, and a hydrolysis coefficient of≤0.5 at 50°C and 95%RH. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
