PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic circuit material which utilizes a bulk material and assures a large attracting force per unit area. SOLUTION: The magnetic circuit member is made of an iron system material allowing inclusion of plumbago particle. This plumbago particle is formed in the shape of a long pole, and the magnetic flux is formed in the longitudinal direction of the plumbago particle. Moreover, the method of manufacturing the magnetic circuit material comprises the steps of preparing for the iron system material obtained by conducting the swaging process to the iron system material allowing the existence of the plumbago particle, and conducting the heat treatment of the iron system material.
