PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detector which facilitates attaching and detaching work without the risk of damaging a detection means even in wiring work. SOLUTION: A detector 1 is provided with a base main body 2 fixed to an attaching surface and a cover main body 3 freely attachably and detachably connected to the base main body 2 by a turning operation. The cover main body 3 houses the detection means and a battery 12, and the base main body 2 is provided with a wiring space 7 for housing an electrical wire 6. It is preferable that the base main body 2 and the cover main body 3 are provided with a connection terminal 11 and a connection contact point 16 which are to be electrically connected by contact.
